In 2025, Navdanya’s Mahila Anna Swaraj (MAS) network continued its inspiring reach throughout India. What began years ago as a handful of women sharing seeds has become a remarkable movement where women gather to pass on generations of wisdom rooted in care for the Earth.

Many MAS leaders led village-level trainings on seed saving, soil health, and water harvesting, turning their own farms into demonstration sites.

In regions battered by drought and unseasonal rains, women showed that real adaptation doesn’t come from chemical inputs, but from biodiversity, cooperation, and courage.

Navdanya’s 2026 year of courses offer a powerful return to learning grounded in truth, non-violence, women’s leadership, biodiversity, water justice, and regenerative farming. Led by Dr. Vandana Shiva alongside renowned scholars and practitioners, these programs invite participants to explore the interconnected themes at the heart of ecological and cultural resilience. In 1995, Vandana Shiva founded Bija Vidyapeeth—Navdanya’s Earth University—transforming an old eucalyptus orchard in the Doon Valley in Dehradun, India, into a thriving 47-acre organic farm, seed bank, and biodiversity research center. Today, it stands as a lush living classroom where farmers, students, educators, and global thought leaders come to study organic farming and agroecology.
